Valentines Jazz Mix by DJ Castles

We got a special Jazz Valentines Mix this week brought to you by DJ Castles aka Track Master the Plague. I know I’m single this year, but you can’t listen to this and be in a bad mood. It’s just not humanly possible. Good job on this one, Castles!

Back to Basics.

Spring collections are out but it usually takes a month or two for the “good shit” to hit the stores. I don’t really get into the floral/loud print steez until March/April. Right now I’m all about keeping it basic. I’m not ready to let go of fall yet! Snagged some basic h&m tanks, 2 shirts from Zara Trafaluc (A bit of Sweet)- front is cropped and the back runs long, and h&m high waisted/daisy-printed shorts (ya I know, floral, but so cutes). But I’m in love with this over-sized silver chained necklace from H&M.

Went on some productive thrifting missions with Jones & Castles the past couple weekends. Who would’ve guessed we’d find gold at the Valley Value Center? Pictures coming soon.

2011: Year of the Rabbit.

Circa 2008. Yesterday marked the beginning of Chinese New Year. For all my fellow 1987-ers, it’s the year of the Metal Rabbit. According to the Chinese Zodiac, those born under the sign of the Rabbit will have a good year, and, in addition, the lucky sign of the rabbit will bring luck to everybody else as well. Chinese predictions foretell that those born in the year of the Rabbit will truly have a wonderful year in love, in art, in all else.

I’M. SO. F-ING. READY.

YSL Spring 2011 RTW Collection

Made my usual rounds at vogue.com today and came across a noteworthy Spring Collection. I gathered 6 of my favorite looks from Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring ‘11 Ready-to-Wear runway show. Stefano Pilati is one of my favorite designers and I love love love that he incorporated a ton of dresses and strayed away from the usual white, nautical spring themes. I haven’t been very impressed with other RTW collections this season. Dior came out with an amazing line, however. I’ll save that for another post. Enjoy.

Dj Rude Boy Spinning

The original flyer I created was apparently too “80’s” for The Black Boar’s liking. So here it is, version 3.0… minus all the bells & whistles, color, and ghetto lingo. I think it came out okay. Note: I’m not a graphic designer. I just like clothes…. don’t hate on me. Thanks.

Oh that’s right… the pawty. So Sofie’s “Mustache Extravaganza” Birthday, you’ll find all the info on the flyer. Great tunes provided by our very own DJ Rude Boy aka Jones Perry aka THE BRAIN. Stop by and watch this foolish pinoy spin! Come one, come all. And don’t forget your ‘stache.

Our daily dialogue.

  • Pinky: "Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?"
  • The Brain: "The same thing we do every night, Pinky—try to take over the world!"
